Encrypt Uganda is an not-for-profit civil society organisation established to promote and protect digital rights and freedoms of human rights defenders . Founded in 2017 by a group of experts in Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Encrypt Uganda works towards securing individuals’ and organisations’ data and privacy.
A community where data and information is secure and internet freedoms are respected.
To secure, safeguard individual and organizational online and offline data and information through capacity building, security enhancement of Information systems and protection and promotion of online freedoms.
To contribute to an open, free and secure internet through capacity building, security enhancement of Information systems and protection and promotion of online freedoms.
OBJECTIVES OF ENCRYPT UGANDA
- To promote and protect online freedoms as provided in the regional and international instruments that Uganda is party to and also as provided in Uganda’s Constitution.
- To build capacities of individuals and organizations in digital and information security and privacy.
- To work together with both regional and international bodies, journalists, civil society organizations and government bodies who share the same vision of Encrypt Uganda.
- To enhance the security of information systems.
